Pelosi Continuing to Put Off America's Most Important Issue
Today, due to the cost of oil decreasing, OPEC released that oil production will be cut by 500,000 barrels/day. This will decrease the supply and increase the cost of gasoline in your tank at the pump. American money spent at the pumps on foreign oil may find its way into the hands of terrorists overseas. The citizens of this country need to be able to continue their daily lives without going broke and remain safe in a post 9/11 world. The dependence on foreign oil must end now.
Today we must invest in alternative sources of energy. This includes energy from wind, solar, hydro-electric, fuel-cell, clean-coal, natural gas, and nuclear power. The use of natural gas appears promising. First off, emissions from vehicles powered by natural gas are much cleaner than that of gasoline. Secondly, America has enough natural gas to run its vehicles for 60 years. During this 60 year process, we will continue to search and develop more alternative sources of energy.
For once in a few hundred years, France has done something right. 80% of their electricity is produced by nuclear power reducing their dependence on foreign oil. I have not been one to say that we should imitate France at anything, but nuclear produced electricity is something that France has done right. America's nuclear power plants already have cut greenhouse gas emissions by 20%. In an environmentally conscious time in history, Americans should drastically increase the amount of nuclear power produced.
Not only do we need to work on these long term solutions, but we need to decrease our dependence on foreign oil now! We need to drill here and drill now! We do not need to rely on these foreign governments for oil. Our stock market should not jump with OPEC's decisions. We need to increase off shore drilling and create new U.S. refineries for the first time in 30 years. We need to drill in Alaska and the Arctic Circle. By producing more oil here at home, we can find temporary relief in our pockets at home and our war on terror overseas.
For months, the Pelosi democratic lead Congress has continued to put off developing a new energy plan, even recently taking a 5 week summer recess while gas prices continued their upward journey. Some American citizens feel like they have to take out a mortgage on their homes to buy a tank of gas. Pelosi doesn't see it that way. With September 26 proposed as the last meeting for the 110th Congress, there is not much time left in the session to fix America's biggest problem.
Today, the democrats once again used procedural methods to keep a comprehensive energy plan from coming to a vote. Instead, the democratic majority party showed that they thought that discussing the testing of a river in Arizona was more important. The democratic congress, which has a much lower approval rating than George W. Bush, needs to get back in touch with America. America needs this comprehensive energy plan and America wants it now. According to American Solutions, 81% of Americans want greater use of domestic energy resources. A Rasmussen poll concludes that 67% of Americans support off shore drilling.
Congress Representative Westmoreland started the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less Petition which currently has 196 signatures of Congress Representatives. Despite representing a constituency in need of financial relief in gas prices, Congressman Heath Shuler, elected 2 years ago as a conservative blue-dog democrat, refused to sign the petition, proving that he is just another one of Pelosi's liberal puppets in D.C.
Now is the time to contact your congress representative and let your voice be heard. H.R. 6001 - Main Street U.S.A. Energy Act is a comprehensive energy plan by Congressman Steve Buyer. This gas price relief in the form of a bill co-sponsored by 21 other congress representatives, including North Carolina's Robin Hayes, Sue Myrick, and Patrick McHenry, has been ignored by the liberals controlling Washington. Now is the time to contact your congress representative and tell them that you want to see H.R. 6001 - Main Street U.S.A. Energy Act come before Congress for a vote before your representatives in Washington take a long undeserved vacation until January.

Obama & Biden: The Dynamic Duo
Barack "Hussein" Obama (that one's for you Kevin) and Joe "Robinette" Biden make the perfect running mates for the White House.
Barack Obama has been running the campaign message that there is now "Hope" in America for "Change". Joe Biden is the perfect candidate to add to this ticket of change, since he is 36 years new to Washington. This long-known advocate of reform...
I can't continue with this nonsense. Let's get down to the truth.
The couch potato of Washington change, Joe Biden, has done little, if any, throughout his many years as Senator to reform D.C.. Often reform refers to fighting the established powers. Its hard to do that when you, yourself, are a 36 year established power in Washington, D.C..
To make change truly happen, one must work across party lines. Biden and Obama have not worked across party lines. According to the National Journal's 2007 Vote Ratings, calculated by Polidata, a nonpartisan political data analysis firm, the Junior Senator Obama votes as the most liberal Senator of the United States. His vice-presidential nominee, the 36 year couch potato of the Washington change, comes in a close third in the rankings of most liberal Senators. In a Senate where there are 25 Senators more liberal than Ted Kennedy (26th by National Journal's 2007 Vote Rating), Barack Obama and Joe Biden are anything but moderate.
Barack Obama's plans with United States include raising taxes(as found in Obama's platform). This Junior Senator seems to be looking for any excuse to raise taxes. Be it a higher Social Security tax, a higher tax on capital gains, a higher tax on dividends, a higher tax on small businesses (the back-bone job creator of the economy), or the the higher income tax which Obama will have to raise to pay for his national health care plan, Obama never misses a step in his plan take "change" out of the citizens pockets and stick it into his ever-growing federal bureaucracy.
One thing which may unify Obama and Biden, besides their far left agenda, is their habit of habitual plagiarism. In 1988, Joe Biden plagiarized a speech by Neil Kinnock, a labor party leader in the House of Commons. After being exposed, Bidens resignation from the Democratic primary soon followed. Obama followed in his VP's footsteps. Check out Obama's plagiarism's of John Edwards and Deval Patrick below.
It is amazing that these two candidates of "Change" sound like the same old politicians of yesterday.
While the Obama Presidential campaign has focused on the issue of stating that they are for "Change" in the government, they have proven to be supporters of "changing" their minds. Obama and Biden have flip-flopped on many different issues.
Let us start with the 36 year couch potato of change. Biden changed his mind about Barack Obama and his readiness to be President of the United States.
Amazingly enough, Joe Biden changed his thoughts after receiving Obama's vice-presidential nomination.
Obama stated the day before his announcement of his VP choice that he wanted a vice president who would challenge his ideas. Obama failed by selecting flip-flopper Joe Biden. On Labor Day, before his vice-presidential pick, Joe Biden stated that he was not against offshore drilling. This type of elaborate energy plan for a Democrat was truly a "Change" America and the Democratic party needed. Amazingly enough, he gets the vice-presidential nomination by Obama and he "changes" his mind and conforms to Obama's viewpoints, stating that he is against drilling.
One issue that Obama flipped on was campaign finance. After agreeing to a new ethical standard with the republican nominee and beginning to "change" America, Obama went back on his word and "changed" his mind.
Obama also "changed" his mind on his stance on Jerusalem's sovereignty. He originally stated that Jerusalem,"must remain undivided". After pressure from Palestinian leaders, Obama "changed" his stance less than 24 hours later.
These candidates of "change" share many things in common. Hopefully after November they will share another: A failed attempt at the United States Presidency.
Just some food for your thought until the next blog entry:

Obama and His War on Small-Town America
Obama's acceptance speech on Thursday night was overshadowed by the god-like Greek temple stage design. This design, by Britney Spears's set designer, was far more spectacular and celebrity-like than anything Britney could have imagined. The fact that Obama feels like he needs a stage of this caliber simply shows Obama's egotism and disconnect with middle America.
A few weeks ago America watched as the former presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards announced that egotism was the cause of his political suicide. Obama's celebrity-like and "big head" won't cause him to cheat on a wife dieing of cancer, but it has already caused Obama to disconnect with a majority of hard-working rural Americans.
At the announcement of McCain's surprise vice-presidential pick of Governor Sarah Palin this past Friday morning, Obama once again attempted political suicide. The Obama campaign's official response attacked the republican opponent by stating, "Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000.... a heartbeat away from the presidency."
Obama first showed his division and intolerance of rural America back in April at a San Francisco fundraiser when he said that the people of Small-Town America, "get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them".
These knee jerk reactions of Obama and his campaign clearly show a hatred toward rural Americans. Unfortunately the Obama lemmings have already overlooked his connections with known terrorists, his far left voting record in the United States Senate, and the fact that Obama is the most inexperienced candidate to ever run for president. Why would a little thing like classicism make Obama supporters change their minds?
